MuleSoft Keeps Its Hoof on the Gas



Last week marked a special moment in time for MuleSoft, as we position ourselves for the next phase of growth. The $128 million in we announced led by Salesforce Ventures brings our total financing raised to $259 million. ServiceNow and Cisco also made significant investments, along with public market investors Adage Capital Market, Brookside Capital and Sands Capital Ventures, as well as our existing venture investors. Each investment during MuleSoft’s evolution has allowed us to continue to solve the largest unsolved problem in IT. $593 billion of global IT spending is on integration, and we see it as a massive opportunity to make connectivity happen in a programmatic way that was not possible before.

I still remember the pain of integrating a few systems and applications at the investment bank where I was working in the early 2000s. The more I learned, the less I understood. What really struck me (and led to the founding of MuleSoft) is the idea that businesses shouldn’t have to deal with the repetitive pain and complexity of integrating diverse business IT systems, data and apps. Since then, I am proud to say that MuleSoft has come a long way with more than 500 employees worldwide and a continuous trajectory of success. This funding is a big milestone for our company, as we are poised to accelerate our technology platform, fuel international expansion and extend our reach to serve global enterprise customers.

Connectivity is top of mind for both consumers and businesses in today’s digital world. Surrounded by the growth of cloud, mobile and the Internet of Things, organizations around the world are realizing that everything needs to be connected – and the humble API is changing how they are all connected. MuleSoft is helping to drive the API economy by allowing businesses to unlock data and deliver it into the hands of employees, partners and customers with a single platform.

MuleSoft has already been recognized by Gartner as a leading provider in the Magic Quadrants for On-Premises Application Integration Suites, Enterprise Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) and  Application Services Governance.* We are the only vendor named as a leader across these three particular Magic Quadrant reports.

We believe the continued recognition among investors and analysts is validation of the true strength of MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform™. In the age of instant gratification, customers want the freedom to connect what they want, when they want. MuleSoft is paving the way for businesses to provide this through the combination of APIs and integration in the cloud and on-premises. We’ve seen hundreds of enterprise customers across various industries benefit from our platform to take connectivity to the next level and transform their business.

We are currently preparing for CIOs, IT leaders, customers and partners to join us at the Hilton Union Square Hotel in San Francisco from May 27 -29 for our annual user conference, CONNECT.
