We launched the MuleSoft Ideas Portal in early 2017 as a direct channel with our customers to house all incoming enhancement requests. This portal allows customers to submit ideas, view others’ ideas, and vote on the ideas they like. It also provides a view into other requests that are in the implementation pipeline. Since its launch, our customers have added more than 2,000 ideas! And as of today, we’ve delivered more than 160 of those ideas — that’s over 19,000 points — and there are more in the pipeline!
I’ve been an Integration Architect in IT engineering here at MuleSoft for about one and a half years. When I arrived, our group had a full queue of potential development projects, but were still maintaining many legacy and point-to-point applications created by external developers outside of IT. Each application was designed well and accomplished singular goals that satisfied the use cases from the business owners, but it’s been challenging to maintain these legacy applications within the context of our ever-evolving products.
MuleSoft was just rated the #1 Top Workplace for mid-sized companies in the Bay Area by the Bay Area News Group, our fifth consecutive year on this list—and we’re pretty excited about it! The reason this award means so much to us is that it’s based entirely on employee surveys, so the 350+ Muleys in our San Francisco HQ all had awesome things to say about why they love coming to work every day.
Today is a big day for us. We’re having our IPO today. Going public means that we have grown MuleSoft to a scale and level of performance that few companies achieve. It means that we will be playing on an even bigger stage, and we’re ready.
Today is a big day to celebrate the great work of the Muleys who have made it happen. You should be proud and enjoy this moment—it’s an excitement that few people will experience.
It had just turned 2 a.m. on April 18th, 2003. I was getting ready to release my first open source project, and I was about to pull the trigger on a name. I settled on MULE as I was trying to solve the hard, unrelenting work of connecting applications and data—MULE was going to take the “donkey work” out of integration. What I didn’t know was that I was choosing the stock ticker symbol for a company that would go on to solve much bigger problems for companies globally.
