Earlier this year MuleSoft launched a new, usage-based pricing model, where usage is calculated based on either the number of integration flows deployed or messages across those flows.

This effort was undertaken to ensure MuleSoft customers can optimize their investment and easily understand the impact that investment is having across their IT organization. Part of this process was making usage data readily available within Anypoint Platform; the embedded dashboard provided such an overview.

However, there was a caveat: customers on our core-based pricing, such as those with hybrid deployment on Runtime Fabric (RTF) still had to measure core utilization through ad hoc solutions which limited their ability to enact proper governance. As enterprises are expanding their hybrid deployments on RTF, we understand various usage reporting and contract governance scenarios have become critical for customers still operating on a core basis.

For those customers, we’re happy to announce the general availability of core-based tracking as part of the Anypoint Platform usage dashboard.

Track, monitor, and govern core usage in hybrid environments

Customers can now track cores through relevant metrics for their Runtime Fabric instances and respective application deployments. The updated dashboard also offers further usage analysis, with drill-down capabilities across various dimensions, including DateTime, Business Units, and Environments.

These dimensions will allow customers to track the time series utilization of their workloads precisely for capacity planning of their infrastructures as well as measure license compliance with growing demands. across business units. This will also enable reduced overhead for larger enterprises to do chargebacks for Partner Manager use cases. Furthermore, these usage metrics can be exported for AI-driven predictive analysis, maximizing business impact from seasonal workloads.

Beyond providing tracking for cores across various hybrid deployments, today’s enhancement to the usage dashboard will also allow existing MuleSoft users who are still on the core-based pricing model, to easily adopt MuleSoft’s new usage-based Pricing and Packaging if they so choose. Through comparing cores and flows consumed by each application side by side, customers can plan their transitions with a concrete understanding of their utilization and the associated pricing prior to making the switch.

Transparent in-product monitoring of core allocations will reduce operational overhead for users to maintain the capacity of their hybrid instances residing in MuleSoft partner platforms.

The goal of our new pricing is to provide a simpler and more flexible model that scales with our customer’s integration needs and aligns with the value they receive from deploying into our products rather than tethering them to infrastructure.

We’re encouraging all of our customers to plan for the switch, and in releasing this dashboard, our aim was to simplify that process.

It’s our intention to support HSA core usage for hybrid standalone deployments in H1 FY26.
