Matillion and IDG Research surveyed IT professionals across multiple industries – including finance, retail, and healthcare – and confirmed a few themes. Data volumes are growing, public cloud adoption is rising, and the amount of data sources in an organization is vast. 

According to the survey, the average organization has 400+ sources, and 20% of companies were drawing from more than 1000 sources.
