At the tail end of 2023, MuleSoft introduced a refreshed pricing structure: usage-based pricing. This new model is driven by usage – flows deployed or the volume of messages passing through those flows – as opposed to our traditional core allocation model.

The goal of this initiative was to help MuleSoft customers maximize their investment and clearly see its effects on their IT operations.

We’re happy to announce that usage-based pricing is now available for Hybrid Standalone (HSA), meaning that customers across the breadth of our deployment offerings: CloudHub 1.0 and 2.0, Runtime Fabric (RTF), and Hybrid Standalone (HSA) can now take advantage of all the benefits that the new model entails.

Crystalize the operational impact of IT

With usage-based pricing, customers can optimize their investment by paying based on their actual usage, allowing for greater flexibility and cost efficiency. As organizations increasingly embed integration, automation, and AI across their business, effective management of IT resources becomes essential for optimizing performance and maximizing ROI.

MuleSoft wants to promote comprehensive resource management strategies that are the basis of building such robust operations and ensuring our customers are getting the most out of the platform.

To tangibly unlock these benefits, you need to be able to easily consume your usage data reports. This process is simple thanks to Anypoint Usage Report. This tool enables users to monitor their flow, messages, and data throughput usage on both a daily and monthly basis, with a pre-built CSV export functionality.

In addition to our existing core tracking across different hybrid and standalone deployments, the latest update to the usage dashboard now enables current MuleSoft users on the core-based pricing model to seamlessly transition to MuleSoft’s new usage-based Pricing and Packaging, if they choose.

By comparing the cores and flows used by each application side by side, customers can strategically plan their transitions with a clear understanding of their usage and the corresponding costs before making the change.

The transparent in-product monitoring of core allocations will help users reduce the operational burden of managing the capacity of their hybrid instances on MuleSoft partner platforms.

Our new pricing model aims to provide a more straightforward and adaptable approach that scales with our customers’ integration needs and aligns with the value they derive from using our products, rather than being tied to infrastructure constraints.

Adopt usage-based pricing today

Access to tools that promote cost-efficient optimization are a critical component of infrastructure management, as it means you can ensure you’re getting most value from your IT investments, promote financial responsibility, and use data to drive operational decision-making.

With the rise of AI utilization, compliance has never been more relevant and helping businesses adhere to regulatory requirements while optimizing operations, especially in industries with stringent standards, is essential.

Customers with hybrid standalone deployments can now purchase usage-based pricing and gain valuable visibility into their usage through the Anypoint Usage Report. This enhancement ensures that all our customers can benefit from a pricing model that aligns with their actual usage, leading to more efficient and cost-effective operations.

We look forward to continuing to help our customers develop comprehensive resource management strategies to build robust operations.
