PCF MuleSoft

Today we are delighted to announce the availability of Anypoint Platform™ for Pivotal Cloud Foundry®, the worlds most powerful cloudnative platform. The solution is the outcome of ongoing collaboration between MuleSoft and Pivotal® to deliver application networks through API-led connectivity. The new set of capabilities within Anypoint Platform enables users to manage integrations and API gateways deployed on Pivotal Cloud Foundry.

“Together MuleSoft and Pivotal are allowing enterprises to complete IT projects and achieve digital transformation faster. Our collaboration is enabling innovation at cloud scale so that our mutual customers can increase productivity and connect with their own customers in a whole new way,” said Mark Dao, chief product officer, MuleSoft. “With Anypoint Platform running with Pivotal Cloud Foundry, IT eliminates duplicate projects, backlog, ungoverned services, and siloed projects. The new solution enables collaboration, reuse, and speed while establishing a seamless cloud application platform for building secure composite applications that respond quickly to change.”

“We’re seeing the largest enterprises turn to cloud-native platforms to transform their software delivery and operations practices. APIs are a key facet of their strategy to solve their business problems and move at cloud scale,” said Ian Andrews, vice president, products at Pivotal. “The synergy between MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform and Pivotal Cloud Foundry creates agility, speed, and flexibility for customers, without sacrificing security and control. Anypoint Platform for Pivotal Cloud Foundry Highlights

MuleSoft customers have the option to deploy the Mule runtime engine with integration applications and API gateways to Pivotal Cloud Foundry. They receive access to MuleSoft’s fully-hosted iPaaS and API management offerings along with the design and collaboration capabilities of Anypoint Platform. Highlights include:

  • Powerful tools to enable a new IT operating model: Customers can leverage tools and resources that enable collaboration and reuse. Services developed regardless of underlying technologies can be discovered and cataloged on Anypoint Exchange for developers to easily locate, design with and reuse. Users can recompose services into new applications quickly, increasing efficiency and agility while eliminating a siloed project culture.
  • Build cloud-native applications through API-led connectivity: The combination of Pivotal Cloud Foundry’s DevOps approach for building services using custom code and MuleSoft’s API-led connectivity for building composite services enables a modern approach to software deployment for faster IT project delivery. Composite services can be built using Anypoint Studio to orchestrate microservices and can be quickly recomposed as business needs change.
  • Built-in security, governance, and visibility: Customers automatically benefit from governance and security built into the architecture, which is especially critical when scaling Microservices architectures due to the large number of light-weight services.  Anypoint Platform also enables API proxies on top of the services built across all underlying implementation technologies, including Pivotal Cloud Foundry.

  1. Hi Sandeep,

It’s nice to see Mule and Pivotal partnering for cloud based services and good explanation in the blog too.
So, does this mean, any Mule developed app can be deployed, maintained and operated on PCF, similarly to what we do on CloudHub?
By doing so, we are segregating the cloud infrastructure entirely from the apps we deploy, correct?
Also, it would be great if you can showcase a demo/webinar on this along with a sample on exchange or github.

    Thanks for sharing the knowledge.

    Regards,
    Raj

    • Thanks Raj! Appreciate your kinds words on the blog and we are glad to learn that you share our excitement about the solution. Yes, you are correct that this solution enables the customer to operate Anypoint entirely on the PCF cloud behind the customer firewall.
Good suggestions on the next steps. Our chief architect is building the demo and it will be out shortly. We are also planning to have a break-out session at MuleSoft Connect conference in April.
