This week we announced the availability the Mule SAP Enterprise Connector. This is a major milestone since Mule is the only next generation ESB to be certified by SAP.
SAP is one of the most popular Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions on the market. But the big challenge for SAP customers is how to integrate SAP with other systems and application, which is key to automate and optimize business processes.
The Mule SAP Enterprise Connector uses the SAP Java Connector (JCo), thus enabling your Mule applications to:
- Execute BAPI functions over sRFC (synchronous RFC), tRFC (transactional RFC) and qRFC (queued RFC)
- Act as a JCo Server to be called as a BAPI over sRFC, tRFC and qRFC
- Send IDocs over tRFC and qRFC
- Receive IDocs over tRFC and qRFC
- Transform all SAP objects (JCoFunction & IDocs) to/from XML
The MuleSoft Enterprise SAP Connector can be used for any SAP integration scenario. A few common integration use cases are:
- SAP and CRM: With the connector, you can synchronize between your ERP and CRM systems. For example, if you use Saleforce.com, together with the Salesforce cloud connector for Mule you can synchronize new customer data to SAP. Many SAP customers struggle with SAP<->Salesforce integration.
- Supplier Integration: When SAP creates a purchase requisition indicating your firm needs to purchase a component or raw material, Mule can send this request to all the possible suppliers that sell those goods. Mule can then route all the supplier quotes back to SAP so your company can chose the best quote and send a PO to the chosen supplier.
- Purchase Order Integration: With Mule you can integrate your purchase order software so that when a new purchase order is received, this information is immediately available in SAP.
