MuleSoft is pleased to announce the general availability of two new Hyperforce regions: Japan and Canada.

Hyperforce is Salesforce’s public cloud infrastructure platform designed to deliver a standard, common, managed runtime stack – including essential services hosted on the public cloud. It offers tools for developers to deploy applications and ensure compliance, while also providing customer-facing APIs, making it distinct from the general public cloud.

The benefits of Hyperforce include:

  • Scalable performance for B2B and B2C: With the flexibility of the public cloud, customers can easily access the necessary compute capacity, enhancing both flexibility and efficiency. Hyperforce enables rapid deployment of resources in the public cloud, cutting down implementation time from months to just weeks or even days.
  • Enhanced security: Hyperforce’s security architecture ensures users have appropriate access levels to customer data, safeguarding sensitive information from human error or misconfiguration. Standard encryption, both at rest and in transit, guarantees data privacy and security.
  • Localized data storage: Hyperforce allows customers worldwide to choose specific data storage locations, aiding compliance with regional, industry-specific, and company-specific regulations.
  • Agility: Drive velocity with reduced maintenance impacts and faster dev/test environments and enormous new interoperability with AWS.
  • Privacy: Hyperforce provides transparency and control over data, ensuring that organizations can manage their data privacy effectively.

MuleSoft on Hyperforce

One of the standout advantages of deploying MuleSoft on Hyperforce is the co-location of both the control plane and runtime plane within the same region. This architecture ensures that data residency requirements are met, leading to improved performance.

By having Salesforce applications and other integrated applications in close proximity, customers benefit from better performance and reduced latencies compared to scenarios where control and runtime planes are geographically dispersed.

Hyperforce provides MuleSoft users with enhanced security features and controls that go beyond those available in the existing commercial cloud. These include:

  • Enforced image signature verifications: Ensures all images on Hyperforce are verified for authenticity
  • Enhanced encryption: More intricate and widespread encryption mechanisms
  • HSM-based vault: For secure management of secrets, encryption keys, and certificates
  • Strict network security: Individualized AWS accounts and owned VPCs with stringent access controls between VPCs
  • Virtualized infrastructure and privileged access: Hyperforce’s infrastructure is fully virtualized, offering a flexible and scalable environment. For individuals requiring privileged access to the infrastructure, a request must be submitted and approved, ensuring an audit trail. Access is granted for a limited time, typically a few hours, and requires two sets of credentials with two-factor authentication, including a physical hardware token.

Just the start

With MuleSoft on Hyperforce you can securely deploy integrations at scale in line with regional regulatory standards. For our customers in Canada, we’ve pursued Protected B compliance, a security level for sensitive information and assets in Canada. For our Japanese customers, we’re adopting ISMAP, a Japanese government program for assessing the security of public cloud services.

These are just two examples of the compliance MuleSoft and Salesforce are investing in our effort to provide truly localized services to our regional customer base.

This expansion marks a significant milestone in our journey to provide our customers with unparalleled flexibility, security, and compliance capabilities. We continue to be committed to solving the global challenges that different industries face and with our purpose-built platform and solutions, we’re making it easier for you to accelerate innovation.

We are excited about the opportunities this expansion brings and look forward to supporting our customers in Japan and Canada as they embark on their digital journeys with Anypoint Platform on Hyperforce.

We intend to launch additional regions in the coming months, so stay tuned for updates regarding availability of Hyperforce.

As of this announcement, the majority of Anypoint Platform’s features across APIM, Integration, and Deployments and Monitoring are available – with the notable exceptions of API designer, Partner Manager, Anypoint Code Builder (Cloud), and Advanced Monitoring. Our Automation products and Runtime Fabric/Hybrid Standalone deployments will be available on Hyperforce at a later time.
