When it comes to digital transformation, it is no longer a case of “if” but “when.” In our latest Connectivity Benchmark Report, we surveyed over 650 IT decision makers and found that nearly three quarters of respondents are currently undergoing digital transformation.
Respondents cited that one of the main initiatives they are undertaking to achieve digital transformation is modernizing legacy systems, followed by integrating SaaS applications, and investing in mobile applications.
The legacy modernization imperative
Technology moves at lightning speed; the reality is that legacy systems – which were once fit for their time – were not developed to support modern technologies such as cloud, mobile, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Legacy systems can hold organizations back from adopting new technologies because, overtime, these systems become tightly coupled together. This hinders agility because it makes it difficult for IT to make changes to these systems or integrate them to newer, more modern ones.
A new approach to legacy modernization is required
A new approach to legacy system connectivity is required. Watch our webinar and demo on modernizing legacy systems using Anypoint Platform to learn how:
- MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform supports a variety of different legacy modernization strategies.
- IT teams can use APIs to create an abstraction layer between their legacy systems and cloud applications
- Using MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform, organizations can rapidly connect to common legacy systems, such as IBM CICS mainframes and IBM AS/400, 5X faster using pre-built connectors and templates.
