Matt McLarty API strategy presentation

Time flies! It’s been six months since I joined MuleSoft as Global Leader of API Strategy. In that time I’ve met and worked with an incredible group of people covering all aspects of our business, worked with customers on their digital journeys, and spoken at the first two CONNECT events in Atlanta and San Francisco. Mostly, though, I’ve been focused on creating workshops that will help organizations determine how APIs can support their business strategies and digital transformations.

I’m excited to announce that this fall we are launching a new series of API Strategy Workshops that will be delivered in cities around the world. These workshops combine the API strategy experiences of MuleSoft’s global customer base with the industry insights of ProgrammableWeb. We have designed the workshops to help attendees understand APIs in the context of their own concrete business goals, then work through interactive exercises that result in actionable outputs. Specifically, we intend that workshop attendees will be better able to answer the following questions once they leave:

  • Which of my organization’s strategic business goals can APIs help out with?
  • What API products will be most helpful in supporting these goals?
  • Which of these API products will provide the starting points with the best ROI?
  • How can I launch a “minimum viable program” for my API strategy?

API workshops for any audience

MuleSoft’s current set of API-Led Connectivity Workshops have helped numerous companies learn how to lay the foundation for their application network and get hands-on with our platform. We believe the API Strategy Workshops provide a nice complement to these workshops for a different audience. Digital transformation is about the convergence between business capabilities and technological innovation. Therefore, we believe the MuleSoft API Strategy Workshops will be most beneficial to organizations who have attendees from both business and IT groups. For companies who want to dig deeper, we also offer a set of API Program Workshops that are delivered to one organization onsite.

The first series of API Strategy Workshops will be delivered across North America as detailed below:

  • October 10 – Vancouver, BC, Canada
  • October 10 – Palo Alto, California
  • October 16 – New York, NY
  • October 24 – Atlanta, GA
  • November (Date TBD) – Washington, DC

Stay tuned for more details to follow, including agendas and venues. I look forward to seeing you at an API Strategy Workshop in the future!
