According to the report, MuleSoft was evaluated and noted for its emerging capabilities and execution roadmap in powering interoperability in healthcare. Per the report:

“Health Cloud’s interoperability, via MuleSoft, is a core strength that enables a scalable API strategy that benefits partners and clients alike. The integration platform not only has hooks into multiple health data systems, including EHRs, but also provides partnerships that close HCOs’ gaps on access to SDoH data and resources and the availability of scheduling data.”

The time for interoperability in healthcare is here

The importance of interoperability in healthcare cannot be overstated. From powering multi-site referral management needs, implementing telehealth for millions of patients – all the way to coordinating global responses to serious public health concerns, such as Coronavirus. The ability to easily and securely exchange healthcare data across the full suite of clinical and non-clinical systems throughout the global healthcare ecosystem is essential in providing the best care possible.

Salesforce and MuleSoft take our pledge seriously to provide a solution for healthcare that meets the needs for full-scale interoperability. 2020 Forrester Wave Healthcare CRM Report: Salesforce Vendor Profile:

“Salesforce lights it up with strong interoperability and configurability. Salesforce, long known for its extensive cloud partner ecosystem, offers a foundational healthcare solution that can be configured by clients or by channel partners with serious chops in healthcare. The vendor lacks pedigree in this space as a relatively new entrant, and it only recently pivoted to developing vertical-specific capabilities within healthcare. This is a weakness, but what it lacks in tenure, it makes up with a solid industry-leading customer success practice (via Trailhead) and industry partnerships across the healthcare value chain. Its roadmap is focused on embedding intelligence, furthering interoperability, and expanding support for home health, remote monitoring, and SDoH.

“Health Cloud’s interoperability, via MuleSoft, is a core strength that enables a scalable API strategy that benefits partners and clients alike. The integration platform not only has hooks into multiple health data systems, including EHRs, but also provides partnerships that close HCOs’ gaps on access to SDoH data and resources and the availability of scheduling data. Reference customers report ROI in fewer than 2 years, a great user experience, quick onboarding for new contact center users, and notable improvements in metrics, such as average handle time. Limited support for content configurability, patient, and member segmentation (lack of individualization), and conversational interfaces are weaknesses. Salesforce is a strong fit for HCOs across all healthcare sectors looking to extend the value of CRM beyond the contact center.”
