MuleSoft at MuleSoft: HR system to Charles Schwab

Recently we launched a service for MuleSoft employees (Muleys) to be able to manage their stock options online using Charles Schwab’s service. With the solution, there is a requirement to exchange data between our HR system and Schwab in both directions. As you can imagine, accuracy is key where anything financial is concerned and as such, reducing complexity reduces the risk of errors. With over six hundred employees now and forecasting fifty percent growth in headcount this year,

For some time now users were able to see basic coverage in the Anypoint Studio UI.

With the new release of MUnit version 1.1.0, users will now be able to see coverage data of the whole  application in detail, all this by just adding a simple set of configurations to the MUnit Maven Plugin.

MUnit Coverage is the perfect tool for those developers who wish to have a quality metric over their applications.

We recently launched an enhanced CloudHub deployment for Studio feature.

This new interface allows users to deploy Studio projects to CloudHub as if they were using CloudHub in the browser, providing all the features and settings needed to get your app up and running.

To log in to the Anypoint Platform through Studio, you can either set a user in your Studio Preferences under the Anypoint Studio/Authentication section or simply right-click on your project name and choose the “Deploy to Anypoint Platform” option.

Why DataWeave Matters

Data transformation

Data transformation is a core requirement for most integrations. Anypoint Platform provides multiple types of transformers, including XSLT, DataWeave and DataMapper.

DataWeave, our new data query and transformation language, offers significant performance advantages over Anypoint DataMapper, our earlier data mapping and transformation solution. The below benchmark shows transformations performance using DataWeave and Anypoint DataMapper with payload size of 100KB (1000 records) with simple complexity.

types of apis

I am excited to announce a new integration of the Anypoint Platform with APIMatic. This integration allows you to generate Software Developer Kits (SDKs) for a given API. With only a few clicks, you can now offer SDK downloads in your API’s portal for ten different languages or frameworks: Java, .NET, iOS, Android, PHP, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, Angular, and Go.

Providing SDKs is the shortest path for developers to get started with your API.

Introducing the Validations Module

This all began with a very popular request: “We want to be able to throw an Exception from a flow”. The motivation for this is that it’s fairly common to run into “business errors” (errors not related to the handling and transmission of data but the data itself) which should actually be treated in the same way as a connection or system error (things like the remote endpoint is down).

Given the popularity of the request we decided to look into it and started by asking: “which are the use cases in which you would throw an exception?”.
