April was exceptional! 14 MuleSoft Developer Meetups were held across the US, Australia, and Panama in just 4 weeks. Four of them were scheduled on April 19th alone! Mule 4 and DataWeave have been popular topics. Be sure to check the Meetup pages to see presentations and pictures.

So far, May looks like a quieter month, but with CONNECT 2018 approaching, many of our community members will actually be traveling to San Jose for a once in a year opportunity to meet with other MuleSoft users from all over the globe and hear from our team about our latest product news.

In the lead up to CONNECT, we’ll have a very special MuleSoft Meetup on May 8th, the night before CONNECT starts. Join us at the San Jose Convention Center to learn about the various ways you can participate in the community and network with other MuleSoft users. Plus, you’ll have the honor to meet Meetup leaders from all over the globe, such as Ana Chiritescu and John Folkesson (Sweden), Savio Mascarenhas (Australia), Manik Magar (US), Miguel Martinez (US) and Jason Estevan (Canada). Atlanta, GA – April 30th, 2018 (tonight!)

Our local team in Atlanta will cover topics such as Mule 4, containerization, security, CI/CD, and more. Come mingle with the Atlanta MuleSoft community and network with your peers!

San Jose, CA (CONNECT) – May 8th, 2018

This special Meetup is a unique opportunity to mingle with users from all over the world, learn about the various ways to get involved in the community, and get a sneak peek at new community programs.

Melbourne, AU – May 22nd 2018

Join our local team and Nick Bowman, Principal Consultant Middleware at Whitesky Labs, to learn more about new connectors available. As always, mingle and eat pizzas with your peers.

Bangalore, IN – May 26th, 2018

The wait is over! Srilatha Kante, Technology Evangelist at SpringPeople, and Mahesh Shenoy, Partner Enablement Director at MuleSoft, are organizing the very first Meetup in Bangalore! For this inaugural event, they’ll lead an open discussion to kickstart introductions as well as gather topic ideas for future Meetups. Note that seats are limited – a waitlist will open once we’re at capacity. Attendees on the waitlist that can’t get tickets for this event will be prioritized for the next Meetup.

Highlights from past Meetups

San Jose, CA – April 4th, 2018

For this second Meetup in the South Bay, Rohan Rasane, Integration Architect at ServiceNow; Ashish Goyal, Technology Architect at Anaplan; and Chari Gunasekaran, Senior Integration Engineer at Splunk, shared how to build highly scalable integrations. They also showed some demos of integration patterns using CloudHub.

Jacksonville, FL – April 5th, 2018

For this second Meetup in Jacksonville, Jake Morgan, Solutions Consulting Manager at MuleSoft, discussed the hype around microservices and what their role is in today’s IT landscape. Jake also discussed various microservice strategies, as well as other relevant topics, including containerization, private clouds, and DevOps.

Boston, MA – April 5th, 2018

The latest Meetup in Boston was very rich in content! Local leaders Ron Tam and Robert Conti, Solutions Consultants at MuleSoft, presented what’s new in Mule 4 and Anypoint Studio 7, as well as other new platform capabilities around containerization and security. In the second half of the session, Stephen Turner, Senior Applications Architect, MIT Information Systems and Technology, discussed how MIT is leveraging MuleSoft and how they’ve designed and implemented an effective CI/CD solution to improve speed and agility.

New York, NY – April 11th, 2018

At this new event in New York, John Palmer, Client Architect at MuleSoft, presented MuleSoft’s product roadmap highlights for 2018, such as Mule 4 and Studio. Alex Pinskiy, Director of Omnichannel at New York & Company, shared his experience with the integration re-platform project at retailer New York & Company.

Tampa, FL – April 18th, 2018

For their second Meetup in Tampa, R.J. Salicco, Software Architect at NY Life, and Barnes Marshall, Systems Development Lead at Lincare Holdings, led an open discussion about delivering APIs and MuleSoft solutions at scale.

Dallas, TX – April 18th, 2018

Miguel Martinez, Senior MuleSoft Consultant at AVIO Consulting, led yet another successful Meetup, this time hosted by Thru, Inc (thank you to them for organizing!) Miguel and attendees reviewed common patterns of receiving and processing files via web APIs and learned about the new Thru MFT (Managed File Transfer) connector.

Phoenix, AZ – April 19th, 2018

This was the third MuleSoft Meetup in Phoenix led by Vijay Rao, Local Leader and Apisero Practice Head! MuleSoft Customer Success Architect, Paul Kersey, gave a great presentation about performance testing. Vijay provided a presentation on MuleSoft’s DataWeave.

Sydney, AU – April 19th, 2018

For this first Meetup, Nathan Lee, Senior Technical Trainer, provided insights about the recent Mule 4 release. The next Meetup in Sydney is already up! Make sure to book your spot.

Brisbane, AU – Brisbane, April 19th, 2018

For his second Meetup in Brisbane, Savio Mascarenhas, Senior Application Developer at the Department of Transport and Main Roads, led a discussion focused on users sharing their experiences using Anypoint Platform. The discussion included lessons learned along the way as well as tips and tricks. Savio shared that some of the attendees were quite new to MuleSoft and were happy to meet with experienced Mulesoft developers to learn about Anypoint Platform.

Raleigh, NC – April 19th, 2018

For this first event of 2018, many attendees came by to hear from Hari Shankar, Solutions Consultant at MuleSoft, who discussed how prospective and existing customers can leverage the Mule 4 release.

San Francisco, CA – April 24th, 2018

Felipe Ocadiz, IT Integration Engineer at Twitter, organized his third Meetup in SF. This time, he was accompanied by Nathan Nam, Product Manager at MuleSoft, who presented the latest innovations made to the Salesforce connector, and also talked about REST Connect, a powerful tool that converts a RAML specification into a connector.

Panamá City, Panamá – April 25th, 2018

Carlos Reinoza, independent MuleSoft Architect; Jose Luis Delgado, Digital Services Director at Consultec TI; and Larry Magallanes, Principal Software Architect at Consultec TI, organized the first Meetup in Panama! Carlos provided an introduction to Anypoint Platform, showing its components, advantages and opportunities. He also presented the latest improvements in Mule 4.

Canberra, AU – April 26th, 2018

An awesome success with more than 60 attendees for the inaugural MuleSoft Meetup in Canberra that featured guest speakers from IP Australia and Agile Digital. Plus, MuleSoft Solutions Architect Krishnan Ramaswamy presented the latest on Mule 4 and Studio 7.
