IoT Lights demo @ MuleSoft HQ
To liven up the 2nd floor of the MuleSoft SF office, we decided to showcase a slightly modified version of the IoT demo we gave in last year’s Chicago and New York MuleSoft Summits. The demo we have listens for any mentions of @mulesoft on Twitter. If found, a Mule app running on a Raspberry Pi makes the lights glow.
Mule is already running on premise and in the cloud and is soon bound to run virtually everywhere thanks to a new project called Anypoint Edge. This initiative not only focuses on allowing Mule to run on lightweight platforms, like the Raspberry Pi, but also to support protocols and devices relevant to the embedded world, like MQTT and Zigbee. The “Internet of things” had its rabbit, it’s now going to have its Mule!

Last month the AMQP working group, which includes big hitters such as Bank of America, Credit Suisse, JPMorgan Chase, Barclays, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Cisco, VMWare, Redhat, and Informatica finalised version 1.0 of the AMQP standard. It has been 5 years in the making, the market for messaging has changed a lot in that time.
